For more than two months, all 50 states in the US have been on shelter-in-place orders due to the coronavirus. Many bars, beaches, and businesses across the nation have been closed and experienced a drastic decline in their revenue. For those who are local business owners, month-long closures can be incredibly detrimental to the longevity of their business. Without the support of locals, many businesses that have been forced closed may not be able to reopen. However, within the recent weeks, these local businesses have received some good news. More and more states are beginning to lift the shelter-in-place orders, allowing businesses to reopen in different phases. Many business owners and their employees are excited to welcome customers back into our city. Our Greensboro local movers have gathered more information about Phase 1 of North Carolina's reopening.
The state of North Carolina started it's reopening on May 8, 2020. During this time, North Carolina allowed certain businesses to open their doors once again as long as they took precautionary measures to protect employees as well as patrons. The proper social distancing rules set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) should also still be followed.
There are many businesses that are included in Phase 1 of North Carolina's reopening. If you are planning on supporting local businesses, you will want to become familiar with the new operating procedures.
Childcare CentersDaycare centers are going to be open for all families who need child care services, provided that they are in compliance with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Unfortunately, though, there will still be no sports camps or overnight camps opening up just yet.
RetailersAlso in Phase 1 of North Carolina's reopening plans are shopping malls, clothing stores, bookstores, sporting good stores, and home furnishing stores, which will begin opening their doors to locals. The state does not plan to reopen all its malls or shopping centers right away and once they are open, things will not be entirely back to normal. Fitting rooms will remain closed and clothing that is bought and returned will need to be quarantined for three days before being put back on the sales floor.
ChurchesPlaces of worship are also included in Phase 1 of North Carolina's reopening. Churches will be allowed to host services outdoors only due to the fact that the NCDHHS has declared that COVID-19 has a higher chance of spreading indoors.
